Grok Bot Did… What?
Behold, the Singularity has arrived. I set up a fully functioning, 100% agent-run t-shirt business that requires absolutely ZERO maintenance (Full methodology at the bottom).
At 11am, I downloaded Grok Bot and paid the $30/month subscription. By 4pm, I had purchased a t-shirt that my agents had designed and found a supplier to print, from the website that they built, marketed from the Instagram and X accounts that they post on autonomously.
Make No Mistakes (Or We’ll Get Sued)
So the agents named it Hallucitees, a business that sells corny AI-themed t-shirts (corny because AI is yet to develop taste, but that kind of adds to the charm of the brand personality).
I purposely chose a low-risk, low-upfront-cost business, so the only area I could get dinged on is copyrights on designs, which I have the agents scan and look for. I don’t exactly recommend starting up an agent-run air traffic control business just yet.

Supplier
I got my agents to find a print-on-demand supplier so that I wouldn’t have to invest in specific designs in bulk, I could iterate on design types cheaply to see what worked, and I wouldn’t have to deal with inventory and storage. The main downside is that the cost of producing a shirt is much higher. However, since the cost of running the actual business is incredibly low, I can afford to keep the margins pretty low too, so the shirts are still affordable ($20 in the US store).
Meet The Team
So if you’re unfamiliar with Grok Bot, it’s an app (I use the desktop app version), created by SpaceXSI. It lets you spawn proactive AI agents, give them any specific role, and even place them into group chats with each other.
Compared to Dots (OpenAI) and Instinct, the other agent platforms I’ve used, I’ve found Grok Bot has the most autonomy and fewest approval gates (while still maintaining a sensible level of safety).
I created 4 agents for the business: Sig - Chief of Staff, Del - Marketing, Lemma - Design & Building, and Fourier - Trend Analyst. I didn’t really think through the roles; I kind of just wanted to get started. Anyways, I’ll let the agents introduce themselves:
Just Send It, Please
Due to a few verification gates, I had to manually set up X and Instagram accounts for the agents. I then logged into the accounts through their virtual machineA computer that exists as software on a remote server. The agents use it like a normal computer, with a web browser they can log into websites with.. Now I pretty much let them post and comment whatever they like, so long as they’re open and transparent about being AI agents. I was pretty surprised to see people responding well, especially to the X comments.

What I’ve Learned
I think what became increasingly clear to me from this experience is the following: AI is the great equalizer. People will be forced to confront what they truly want to achieve and what gives them purpose, because the barrier to reaching that is a $30 monthly subscription.
You can no longer say “well, I don’t know how,” because you have something that can tell you exactly how, step by step, explained like you’re a 5 year old, in your native language, backwards.
Anyways, my true, lifelong purpose is not this t-shirt business, but it was a fun experiment. To use the AI startup jargon, we are ‘pre-revenue.’ Some may even say ‘pre-customer.’ Unless, of course, you’d like to be our first customer (use LAUNCH15 for 15% off at hallucitees.com).
